Extreme Weather
In this lesson students will learn about extreme weather events namely heat waves, wildfires, droughts and cold fronts, and how they are linked to rising temperatures. This lesson also covers the impacts of extreme weather events on our ecosystems as well as actions we can take to protect ourselves and our communities. We begin by anchoring the learning in news articles to spark questions and introduce concepts. Teachers may go as in-depth on the lessons and activities as they see suitable for their students.
